Why summer residency?

I just returned from a two-week residency at UW-River Falls. Many ask why is this necessary. While there were cyclical waves of fear, excitement, frustration, and stimulation; the end result was a diverse, embracing cohort. Primo Nido di Dottori is the 1st nest of doctors as we are UWRF Falcons and the 1st doctoral students. The cohort shared laughter and tears amidst deep class discussions. New viewpoints were heard and hearts remained open.
